We have all been blessed with an extra day with our babies today. This is due to teacher absence, but I don't mind it at all, since I have no plans to bake my babies into cookies, cakes, pies, or throw them on the ground to watch them explode. So one more day with little Noah James Mello and Aiden Marshall Mello, and then we part ways :,(
Soaking up the moments with the boys, cause tomorrow is our last day together. Sad because I just started to get the hang of things. People at the Riviera have stopped looking at me like I'm crazy now, because of how often I go there. I can now multi task extremely well, my arms have gained some muscle :P and I have learned further to put the boys needs before my own. I have definitely grown closer and closer to them everyday, and to have to put an end to that soon will be tough. Yes I will address the elephant in the room, these are flour sacks for goodness sake, but when you are assigned this project, and if you do it properly, then you start to feel almost attached to them. You treat them as if they are your real children, and to just , i dunno, use them as flour after 2 weeks is going to be weird. From this project I have learned the obvious responsibility involved in raising a child, let alone twins. It becomes twice as difficult. You start to have less plans, work your schedule around when you have to work or get a babysitter which adds up quickly, and that there is more involved then you might think. That is all. It is another round of feeding for Aiden and Noah, then a short rest for myself, because we all know newborns are little piggies when it comes to food.

So yesterday was a big day for the twins, their first time with their auntie Megan, who watched them while I went to work.I packed up their diaper bag and dropped then off at Megan's work at about 3:30, here are a few pictures of me and them before I go to work:
Of course I was pretty bummed to have to bring them to a babysitter because I have only had them about 2 weeks now, and I don't want to spend any time away from them, but I have to work so that I can provide for them, and anyhow Megan is great with kids, so they were in good hands. The following is a babysitters report from Megan, and some pictures she took of them.
Man, oh man…what a day! Savannah dropped these two cuties off with me around 3:30 today. I was still at work. It's probably a bit odd to have two infants at work (especially when your job involves alcohol), but they were very well behaved and just smiled the whole time.
We left work around 5:15 and headed for my house. They don't quite fill out their car seats yet, but they seemed to be safe and secure.
I fed them immediately after we arrived home. They were famished! They were a little gassy afterwards, but I managed to get some big burps out of them and then they were fine.
After din din we took a bath. I'm not sure if you're really supposed to give baths to infants, but they were pretty smelly so I thought it was a good idea. Noah loved splashing in the water, but Aiden hated getting water in his eyes so he wasn't really a fan.
After bath time we played with the provided stuffed animal toy. They seemed really fond of it. However, they got a little restless and decided to take their first steps! I'm so sorry Savannah wasn't here to witness the amazing miracle. I think they set the Guinness Book of World Records for the youngest babies to every walk. I wouldn't have expected anything less from the children of Savannah though!
They were tuckered out from walking all over the house, but it was too early for bed time so I decided to give them a haircut. I wanted them to look really nice when their mom picked them up. I hope she approves.
I put them to bed around 7:30 just as their mom had instructed. They would NOT close their eyes though so I gave them both some eye masks to force them to rest. They fell asleep immediately and rested until their mom came to pick them up.
I really enjoyed babysitting these angels. My own baby, Zulu, was a bit jealous of all the attention these little nuggets were getting, but she eventually warmed up to them and told me she'd love for them to visit any time.

The twins took their first steps today. Not to brag or anything, but they are very advanced for their age! |

These kids are a handful and I needed a break. Gossip Girl to the rescue. I covered their eyes during the "mature" scenes. |

Taught them a new trick! |

Decided to give them their first haircuts. I hope their mom is okay with missing all these important milestones. |

Singing lullabies to my sweet sacks of flour.
So as you can see I think that my boys were well taken care of while I was gone, and was very happy to see that they enjoyed their visit :)

Everything is well here at the Mello household. Haven't been able to upload any pictures recently because of phone difficulties, but I will try again tomorrow. These past 2 weeks have been some of the best memories and moments I have had. Just the other day the boys started figuring out their hands, and heaven forbid the toes are next :P I got them both pacifiers today to see if they would take to it, and I can't thank the creator of those things enough. It is suddenly a little more peaceful around here. Anyway nothing to exciting happening right now, just soaking up the time I have with Aiden and Noah. Tomorrow they are going to see their Aunt Megan for a little bit while my mother and I go out to the movies, so we will see how that goes. Update tomorrow, gotta go, I here the hungry cry.
